Lata Gapi | Waterfall In Serendah, Selangor (Mini Lata Dinding)

Lata Gapi is a nice waterfall in Selangor with an easy trail to hike. It is located a little further away from Rawang in Antara Gapi, Serendah. No permit or guide required. Entry is free.

Lata Gapi Parking & Trailhead

There were two trailheads to Lata Gapi but the first (original) one next to the houses is now closed off for development. The current trailhead to Lata Gapi by the road side is 850 meters away from the original one. Very limited roadside parking on the grass (do not block the construction site boomgate). 1.5km from the nearest shoplot parkings.

(+1)7.53am: We turned into the first junction we saw but this was the wrong way. A lot of rubbish left by trash people.

(+10)8.03am: After noticing it wasn’t the right way, we headed back to the main path and found the correct junction (the second one).

(+1)8.08am: Crossing the first stream. There used to be a few dodgy planks for crossing the stream but I guess they have all broken. It’s safer to step on the water.

(+5)8.13am: At the t-junction, turn left.

(+2)8.15am: Walk through a palm oil plantation.

(+6)8.21am: Second stream crossing.

(+2)8.23am: Into the jungle trail with some light uphill hikes.

(+8)8.31am: At a junction, follow the Lata Gapi sign to the direct trail to the waterfall (loop trail possible here).

(+9)8.40am: The trail follows the stream and goes upstream towards Lata Gapi.

The path also weaves through the stream and you sometimes have to walk in the stream.

(+10)8.50am: About one hour later, we arrived at Lata Gapi falls.

The sheer wall where the waterfall flows reminds me of Lata Dinding in Negeri Sembilan. Lata Gapi is like a smaller version of Lata Dinding and it’s easier and shorter to hike (1 hour to Lata Gapi compared to 3 hours to Lata Dinding)
